Fruitcake (for Those Who Don’t Like Fruitcake)
Far better than fruitcake, this sumptuous cake is moist, dense, and bursting with flavor and nutrients. It comes loaded with a variety of candied peels, dried fruits, and is sweetened with jaggery, piloncillo, and blackstrap molasses. This Old World Cake has no nuts (however, as nuts are being used in the kitchen, it may not be allergen-free).

Old World Cake Inspiration
Since we at Skó never cared for fruitcake or nuts,  we sought to make a version that pleased. We spun a variant on a Traditional British Fruit Cake Recipe, but have adapted it even further with less processed ingredients & featuring our in-house Glacé Cherries, Apple Cider, Candied Orange Peel, Candied Ginger, and Citrus Zests.

Storage
Keep wrapped and refrigerated for weeks. Glaze with a juice of any of the ingredients if it’s drying out.

An alcoholic option for keeping The Old World Cake long-term (indefinitely): poke holes in the cake & feed with rum every few days.
